Default Mini-14 (.223) for yotes?

I know a .223 is fine for yotes, bu thow about the mini-14 platform.

I'd rather have an AR, but this is all I have access to right now.
I'd be using glass on it, and making sure it shot nice groups.

What do you think?

i dont see any reason why it wouldn't work, the only thing is that shot distance will be limited but not by much(because of the barrel)

bulzeye the mini-14 is a highly reliable rifle, but accuracy is not normally a its strong suit. I would find the ammo it likes, and shoot distances according to its attitude.

Good Luck Hunting !!!

GREAT CHOICE! I would buy a longer barrel, fluted and ported maybe. But otherwise good choice(don't ever shoot a yote with a gay .22 LR).

Ocassionally I'll tote my mini-14 into the yote field especially hunting thick brush where distance isnt an issue but a quick follow up shot may be needed. out here in my neck of the woods id say 50% of the yote hunters are using mini-14's. I just keep your shots to a maximum of 150 yards any further the mini-14 really starts to lack in the accuracy dept.

mini-14 and mini-30's are fine firearms. I sold my mini-14 18 years ago and my mini-30 6 years ago, and regret it to this day.
