Default coyote??

hey guys i got a place in clare michigan, in the begining of november i got me a doe well i gutted it and decided this time to put the gut pile out in the woods with one of my trail cams on to see what activity i could get, well the only pics i got were numerous deer and a few crows. now i have two questions, considering that there were no pics of yotes does this mean that there are none in the area? and also why so many pics of deer, bycoinsedence could i of put the gut pile near a deer trail and thats why or what> thanks in advance

It doesn't mean there aren't any yotes out there. I have had gut pile put out before, and only the buzzards and the magpies came in. Now, most of the time I will have some yotes around, bobcats, and cougars, but sometimes its a hit and a miss. Your second question, luck. Could be a deer trail, could be just a coincidence.

Best way to find out if there are coyotes in your area would be asking others in the area, finding tracks, droppings or going out in the nite and listening for howling. Another technique is howling to locate dogs, usually if they are around they will respond.
