Default How do you...

dispense the animals that are caught in your traps??? i was thinking of setting a few traps but wasn't sure how to finish them off. would a subsonic 22 at close range do too much damage or what. any suggestions???

When I trapped I used a .22 mag. and a FMJ.If you plan to skin them outI found it was easiest to skin if shot thru the heart lung area.

22 bullet thru the head. If there is water nearby I know of guys that drown animals in traps as well.

Ruger Single Six with a .22 Short to the head. I am a big fan of .22 autos, but I bought the Single Six because it can shoot shorts, longs, and has a second cylinder for magnums. Plus, the brass stays in the gun. I wanted that feature for trapping fox and coyotes.

save a bullet and pick up a stick
