Favorite .17HMR ammo Brand

Whats everyone's favorite .17HMR brand. Mine is split 50/50 between Hornady and Federal.

Now i know their all virtually the same but everyone has a preference in some respect.

I like cci's game point and the hornady V-max loads about equally depends what im shooting at.

Check it out, the vmax are great on small game but expand to quick for anything bigger. The 20 gr game points from the cci's work better for fox and bigger. So id stick to the cci's

this all depends on the range you are shooting, at 100+ yards the vmax doesnt expand or fragment very much at all. but at close ranges 25-50 yards the vmax splashes and fragments like no tommorow. there is lots of people that use the vmax for yote hunting but there shots are 75-100 yards. sorry to get off topic.

i like the hornady and federal v max. hornady is cheaper so i buy them.

I use the CCI with Speer TNT 17gr, they group best in my H&R Sportsman. I have shot 1 woodchuck but eveything else has been smaller. My gun doesn't like any of the 20gr loads.
