Arkansas food plots???????????????
I hunt in North Central Arkansas in Fulton county and planted my first food plot this fall. I planted a mixture that I got from the county co-op. It was mostly wheat, with a few oats and winter peas. The ground is fairly rocky and not very fertile. The weat came up fair and a few of the peas came up. I fertilized it with some nitrogen the day I planted it, but haven't since then. Also, I planted it in early Sept. Does anyone have any suggestions on what would be a good spring crop to plant in these conditions? Also, when should I try to plant my spring crop? What could I have done to make the wheat healthier? Any suggestions that you guys have would be greatly appreciated. I just want to try on focus on bringing more deer into the area and keeping them there throughout the year. Thanks again

If you want more deer wheat is not a good thing to put out in my opinion.YOU need to get clover and oats they will never leave we have seem more deer this year you would not believe the deer that is there they have just about killed the food plot now and we have to plant it ever year they eat it all rots too.
