Default Marlin 336A vs 336C

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between these two rifles?

I believe the 336C has the higher quality and nicer looking walnut stock, while the 336A has a lower quality plain jane wood stock. I personally would only consider buying the 336C with its better looking walnut stock.

Model 336A - Also Available with Mounted Scope
A gutsy, no-frills 30/30 with classic styling, a 6-shot tubular magazine and 20" Micro-Groove® barrel, the 336A has a lot of the same features as the 336C, but at an even more attractive price. Its hardwood stock has cut checkering and swivel studs. Now also available with factory-mounted and bore-sighted scope.

Caliber
30/30 Win.

Model 336C
Known for its rugged styling, pinpoint accuracy, and incredible dependability, this popular pistol grip carbine has a flat, solid top receiver and hammer block safety. The 336C has become one of the most popular rifles in North America. Its genuine American black walnut stock is enhanced with fine cut checkering. In addition to 30/30 Win., the 336C is also available in 35 Rem., a cartridge favored by many hunters because of its reputation as a hard-hitting brush-buster.
