IMHO, normal healthy people shooting normal well fitting rifles will find their "felt recoil" experience toparallel the "actual recoil"(as calculated) IF both actual and felt judgmentsaddress both...

30-06 with 180s or 200s and a 338WinMag with 250s, more, a fair bit more, but not bad.
Just avoid feather weight rifles.

Play with it and watch not just recoil, but velocity of the recoil.
