If you are looking for a scope in the $200 range, a friend of mine put a Vortex model in that price range on his Contender. He likes it.

My personal recommendation ... Ziess Conquest 3-9x40mm....

Murdy makes a great point. My advice is to buy the best scope that you can afford. Something like a rather compact 1.5-6x40 or or 2-7x40 or 3-9 x 40 should work great. I am big fan of the Conquest...
