RE: shotguns

I doubt that the foster slug will hit the target where you expect it... but if you can keep track of where it would go, why not. A bead sight set for shot is a different beast from slug sights....

RE: Best Rifle for Bear Hunting in Northern MN

Nothing against the grand 06, but I haven't seen anything up there that the 30 30 couldn't handle in the woods. Nice to have a follow up shot. Let us know if you spot any cougars.

RE: New to this

Oh yeah. Find one that feels good. It is kind of hard to go wrong. You can spend as much as you want, but Marlins, Savages and Rugers will get you in the field and get you going. Enjoy.

RE: .223 for deer?

I guess Mn wants wounded deer. You know, for quite awhile the triple deuce had a rep as a deer poacher hereabouts, and it has a little less pop than the 223. It will kill with the right placement, at...

RE: Your advise needed on sako .222, .222, .22-250

I've had a couple sakos and my current is a stiff barrel .223. I am not aware of any factory models with a muzzle break in these mild rounds. The recoil is negligible as is, and muzzle blast is...

RE: Underwood M1 Carbine

I have seen some pretty ragged stuff in so called "good condition." You have to ask yourself how bad you need an M1 carbine. They are handy but fall short of typical hunting rifles. We used Underwood...

Buckshot does not take to shaping like a tall column of small birdie shot. But you don't have to take my word for it. Put up some butcher paper and see how she prints.

I advise cylinder bore for...

RE: Which should I buy? Glock 45 auto or 45 GAP?

Love the 45 acp, but if the 45 gap fits & feels right, no problem. A few states are using it standard.

RE: .357 and 45 auto

The reason I ask is because the 357 is a tried and true antipersonnel round if you have enough barrel to take it to the velocity that it needs to do its work. That would be...

6 shot. 4's in a 12 gauge tear em up pretty bad. I used to be fairly good at guessing the pattern on my old full choke shotgun and did not tear up much meat.

Looked...
