How many people actually use a Bimini Twist to create a double line?

Its a knot used to create a double line. It was first used in Bimini (Bahamas) by big game fishermen. I was just wondering if it was worth tying this knot as it is time consuming.

I never do but I don't troll for big marlin. I use a length of 100-130lb flourocarbon leader that is longer than the length of the fish I intend to target. Maybe someone with more experience will let you know if it's vitally essential or if there's a work around. I've been out with people who tie them and it looks like a pain in the butt. I'll put off having to learn it for a while, if I can.
