Default Chandeleur Islands

Will be fishing the North end of the Chandeleurs in 2 weeks. Anybody have an update on the area since the storms?

I, too, would like to know where this place is. We like the out islands of The Bahamas for our vacations. 2 miles from the beach and you're into tuna, wahoo, dolphin and maybe "the man in blue".

not nearly as exotic as you are hoping! they are barrier islands off the coast of Lousianna/Mississippi. great inshore fishing for trout and reds. we board a "mothership" in Biloxi and then anchor off the islands in a channell and fish from small skiffs caried aboard the mothership. Fun trip.

They look nice. How far would you have to go to get to deep water? If it's 20 miles or less, there should be some decent fishing for dolphin, snapper, grouper, amberjack and the occasional blackfin tuna.

I have heard that the amberjacks are good sometimes around there.
