We usually fish out from Gasparilla, the boat is docked at Punta Gorda.

Have you fished down there lately??? I was hoping to catch a kingfish but i guess i will have to go later in the year for that. I can't get enough of saltwater fishing, maybe considering looking for a job in florida or geogia when I graduate, just don't know if i can give up what I have and know here in Michigan.

Hey Trophyhntr - we stayed on Little Gasparilla, too. Right across from the marina in Placida. I'd say about 1/2 mile north of Bird Key. The fishing from the dock was great. Snook, trout, jacks, sheepshead, snapper, small grouper, spadefish, ladyfish, catfish, whiting, etc.....We had a golf car with no brakes and crashed it a few times trying to make 3-point turns in the little paths that went to the beach. Went offshore once and bottom fished for big grouper once. Caught a bunch of big grunts.
