Default Pix from weekend trolling run

I made it back out offshore, hoping for some tuna action this weekend. Guys who make the pre-dawn run 15-20mi out have been finding some nice 130-150# class yellowfins. And June's full moon often means the marlin are biting.

We struck out at the HH Buoy (south of Oahu). The birds were over small to decent skipjacks, but that was it. We headed west, and got a hit on a decent Hebi (shortbill spearfish) at 8:30am. It wasn't much of a fight, but it was action. Later that am our spread got hit by a 1501756# Blue marlin. Great jumps, but only until he turned faster than I could reel in. As soon as the pressure let off a bit...gone! It was a fun 2mins.

Here's some pix of the fish. It went 30# which is about average for these 'mini-marlins".
