Bluefin and yellowfin hit OK this season, but I've seen better years. We fished out of Ocean City and down in the Bahamas while on vacation. Caught more mahi mahi (dolphin) and 'cuda in the Bahamas though

We fish out of Manchester MA. Its right next to Gloucester MA. The smaller bluefin tuna were pretty abundant this year in our area.

Still fishing for them now east of Cape Cod. Buddies out today I had to work I'm sure they are catching.
I found daily numbers were down by a bit but size was up. My best was 68"cfl 44"girth July 14th near the Sword. Most trips we managed at least 1 over 60" and many under. This was on my boat and several people's I guide for. The season for me started in mid June and Just ended last week when we released a dozen 100-150 lb fish. Best way to end the season a four rod knockdown!
We also boated a 387lb Thresher this year!

Nice! sounds like you had a good season. The quadruple hookup must have been fun. Do you happen to know Nat and Derrick from First Light Anglers?

I know of them. I'm on the south side of the Cape. Those guys seem to have the Bay bite dialed in especially the vertical jigging thing. I mostly fish to the east of the Cape and to the south at the edge. I'm a troller more than a caster when it comes to the pelagics but bait works for me as well. Nat and Derek post reports on a forum I frequent as well, ffsw.com. Check it out if your into the New England fishing scene the inshore and offshore forums have some good content.

Ken Catch- Thats cool that you know Nat and Derrick, I am good friends with them. They worked for my dad at his boatyard after college and started their store at the same marina. I frequent thier forum in the summer when i am fishing, but thanks for the reccomendation on ffsw.com. Ill have to check that out.
