Default Penn rod & reel

I've been looking at some Penn rods & reels and could use a little help. This rod will be used mostly for Chesapeake Bay rockfish & bluefish w/ some light trolling. The 2 models are the 220GTO & the 230GTO. Any help is greatly appreciated. The 230 is a lot bigger than the 220, but other than the specs I listed below, I really don't know which to go w/.

I know the GTO isn't the best Penn out there, but I've got a 20% off coupon for either GOT and figured I'd go for it. Thanks in advance.

Good choice of reel. Ihave an older Penn 320 GTO that is super. I have caught Sharks up to 5 ft on it, Barracuda, King Mackeral, and a 135 LB Sting Ray with it. That reel should really take some good solid abuse out there for you.

Where you fishing at?

Thanks, I christened it Thurs., we caught some bluefish and you're not kidding, that rod/reel combo has back, hooked into 2 massive ray, normally I'd of been cussing them, but it was nice to see how the combo handled serious dead weight like that that wanted to fight back.

We fish the Chesapeake Bay - Solomons Island, Chesapeake Beach, Breezy Point, & Deltavilleare the areas wenormally launch from.

Glad to hear that that reel worked out for you. Super product for the $$. Mine's been rebuilt a couple times, but then, I was using it for alot bigger fish than it was meant for, and before I could afford some big offshore reels.
Sounds like you have good fishing up there too. Check my reply in the outfitters section. We'll set up a trip in Savannah, or maybe take the boat down info Florida when I can reach the Gulf Stream.
