Default Inshore fishing around Tampa

Going to Clearwater Beach in Feb. Thinking about just renting a boat in the area and doing it on my own. What should be active at that time? Any particular area?Just looking for some action. Not real particular about species, Just don't want to spend the big money for an offshore trip. Any party boats worthwhile in the area?

You can always ask the bait shops what is biting.
One word of caution.....in Florida there is a difference between weakfish and spotted seatrout ( some people on this board don't think there is and laugh at people who know). The size limits are different. Know before you go, and don't get fined.
