Default NC New River Fishing (need help)

I just recently purchased a small fishing boat (16ft) and I want to catch some fish. I am fishing around Camp Lejeune in the New River. I had good luck with small flounder the other day, but got skunked the next. I want to catch fishI can keep. Flunder, drum, whatever. Does anybody have any good ideas on times, baits, lures. I have tried mullet and shrimp but the damn sunfish clean me out before I can even get a real fish. I had the good luck streak with swirly tailed grubs around 10am. 6 flounder and 1 drum, but none big enough to keep. Please help me.

It should be good fishing with the cooling weather and all. Fish near eddies or breaks in the water. Ex. the current is flowing downstream and comes in contact w/ a rock, fish near the edge of the rock where it is still water but still close to the current. Any time there is a fall in pressure is good fishing. Also a few days before and after a new and full moon usually are better fishing days.

Sometimes there is nothing you can do about unwanted bites. I would just say try some more different baits. Good luck!
