In my factory Remington barrel, 41.0 gr. of RL 12 (Rem 9 1/2 primer and WW brass) went .550 for five shots. I never did chronograph the load, but would expect right around 4K.

In Hodgdon book they have listing from 4113-4213 fps with different powders and max loads. remember fellas that velocity does not mean accuracy also. vangunsmith

My swifty likes the heavier bullets for whatever reason. It's a HVA action with a 24 inch Shilen barrel with a 1 in 14 twist. I went from the 40 gr noslers to the 50 gr hornady vmax and my groups tightened up to sub 1/2 inch. Here's the receipe: rem brass, win primers, 38.2 gr IMR4064, 50 gr hornady vmax......3920'/sec. I enjoy the heck out of shooting the thing....the yotes and bobcats around here don't like it much at all!! Regards, Rick.
