does the 300 H&H use a 308 dia bullet?

I have an older 300 H&H and am looking for a smaller deer rifle. Seeing as the 300 H&H ammo is hard to find I was wondering if the 308 uses the same bullet. If so, I can set myself up to reload both.

Yep, same bullet diameter.

Kraft... if you're going to reload, just tone down your 300 H&H loads... save the money you'd spend on another rifle and use it for reloading componants... enjoy shooting more...

yea it's a .308 diameter slug it's a 30cal gun.
