If you buy the LEE and use it a lot especially for larger cases,you will likely end up buying another press at a later date.If you buy a press like The RCBS rockchucker it will last a lifetime and then some even with a great deal of use on large cases.My rockchucker is 25 years old and despite having loaded several thousands of rounds a lot of which were large capacity magnums,it is still in excellent condition.On the other hand I have a couple of friends that bought rockchuckers after their LEE presses broke.

If you are asking about a Lee Classic cast press, I would favor it just because of price alone.
If you are talking about other Lee presses, then the RCBS is far superior.
I don't think anyone is going to break a Lee CLassic Cast press no matter what knid of gorrilla they are- they are bigger and heavier than the RCBS press.

RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme is a better press
I have both.
The only thing the RCBS does that the Lee doesn't is:
A: cost twice as much
B: spit decapped primers all over the place.
C: Has a pretty green color instead of a loud red color.

I have owned both of them and never had a problem with either one . I know I can't tell the difference in the ammo they load which to me is bottom line . Which is best depends on whom you ask and what they own .

You guys need to be more specific when addressing presses from the two companies since they both make a few different model presses.
Lee has made alot of junk over the years except for their dies which are pretty darn good for the money. But that classic cast is second to none as much as I like the rcbs rockchucker I like the lee classic cast better.

If I was buying my first press today it would be the LEE Classic Cast. It's built rugged and I like the spent primer catcher ( a copy from Redding who can say Redding isn't good) BTW I do have a rock chucker and it's a great press but for the money this LEE is as good .. maybe better.

Its a sad day, I broke the linkage on my Lee Challanger press. I always thought that aluminum was a poor design. So I called up Lee and mailde the parts off to them to get replacement parts. I'll let you all know how it goes.
So 3 weeks off over Christmas and not enough ammo on hand. I guess I'll have to buy some now. I was working on a big batch of 308, 150grn spiters on milspec brass. It was once fired brass that I was full lenght sizing (with lube) when one on the cases was a hard extract. So I give it a little pull and the linkage went pop.
Hope Santa brings ammo for Christmas
