Reloading 300wsm

Just got a 300wsm in a Browning A-Bolt Staker. Have a large supply of 30cal 150gr Win SP I use for my 30-06. I don't know if the older Win SP will hold up to the 300wsm vel. Has anyone tried the Win SPs with the 300wsm?

Nope havent' tried them just ballistic tips in that caliber and that weight. They should be clocking 3200+ out of that gun a bit much for regular winchester SP's.

I also load the BT's in 150 for mine, I also use the Browning SS ..

thanks, I got some 150gr Nosler BT and a box on 150gr Hornady Interbonds. going to give both a try and see what the rifle likes. What primers and powder are u'all using? Got 2000 CCI LR in my stock. I think most are using WLR

I have a Ruger 77 Mk II in 300 WSM and I loaded up some 180gr Barnes XLCs at 3000 fps with 67gr IMR 4350 and I can shoot a .6" group at 100 yards. I also loaded up some 165gr Barnes XLCs at 3100 fps with 67.6gr IMR 4350 which shoot a .6" group also. The same 165gr XLC with 73.7gr IMR 4831 at 3200 fps shot about a 1.25" group at 100 yards. (All are MAX loads) I only use CCI primers and for the 300 WSM I use CCI 250 Large Rifle Mag primers.

I will be testing the 150gr Barnes XLCs at 3300 fps soon.
