Hey has anyone loaded the nosler 180 protected point partition for their 308 and had any success with it???? Was thinking of loading some up for my modell 88 to try this season, anyone with any good data??? Opinions?

I have not used that bullet but have used the 190 grain Hornady a lot. The Nosler Manual shows the best powder for the 180 grain bullet you mentioned is 4064. They show a starting load of 40 grains 40.0 and a max of 44 grains 44.0 the velocity they show is2428 to 2718. There data was worked up useing a 24 inch barrel They show that the powder charge will fill the case to 95 percent. I think however that it may compress the powder a touch with that bullet They do not give a COL for that cartridge.. This is from the Nosler Fith edition Manual. They also show 40.0 as being the most accurate load listed. That bullet should do a job on about any big game.
