Default .358- or .375/.338 Winchester?

I just saw a picture of a .338 Winchester Mag cartridge and thought of a cool wildcat. Does anybody know if there is a .358 or .375 wildcat based on the .338 Win Mag? Just thought that might be a pretty good combination, especially the .375. 250 grain bullets, probably 2700 or so feet per second with that frontal area? Seems like a good combo.

CB,

I have heard of the .30-.338. Instead of a .358-.338 I woud suggest a .358 Norma Mag.

Yeah, I know the .30-.338 is the about the equivalent of the .308 Norma Magnum. Wasn't sure about the .358 though. Does anyone know about a .375-.338?

yes, it's been done. A more popular wildcat where i lived was, a 300 Win mag. necked up to .375. I wasn't too impressed, but to each his own.

Necking up the .338 Mag case to .375 is known as the .375 Taylor and is a superb dangerous game round and is equivalent in performance to the .375 H&H magnum. It's also necked up to the .416 bullet and that's known as the .416 Taylor.....both fine wildcats for hunting the biggest stuff on ther planet.
