Light Recoil load for 270 Win

Anyone got any light loads in 270 Winchester that would be good for whitetail. I was thinking of trying the 120 grain Barnes X at about 2700. I saw some 100 gr. Barnes X bullets on ebay, but didn't see any on Barnes' site. Anyone ever shoot any of the 100 gr. at whitetail? I'd like to get this load worked up so my wife can move from her 30-30 to the 270. Any help would be appreciated. thanks

I tried the 110 Sierra, but went back to the 130 grain for anything I wanted to eat. The 110 was too destructive!!

Did you get pass through on whitetail with the 110 grain bullet?

Highknob, the only passthru's I got with the 110 was on broadside shots that hit nothing but a rib going in and out. Oherwise, no. Yes, the deer hit the ground hard most of the time, but a lot of meat was turned to hamburger. The 140 grain in the 7mm Rem. Mag at a mv or 3350 did the same, so I bought a 7X57!!

I just had excellent luck with 47.5g of IMR4064 and 130g SBT Sierra. Doesn't kick much and was excellent accuracy.

It just seemed a lot less to me. We were shooting 150 grain 30-30 loads. I was shooting 56.4 grain of 4350 in the 270 with 130 grain grand slam bullets. Seemed much harder even though the gun weighs a couple of pounds more.??

i use 140 gr barnes x bullets in my .270. the barnes x non coated bullets tend to foul my barrel after about 6 to 8 shots. so in my case alot of cleaning is required to work up loads. the bullet also is quite destructive to the animal. i am probably going to go back to a nosler for this caliber.
