Default .223 HP question....help!

ok my dad says that hollow point ammo tumbles in the air but i dont think it does, and i dont have any ammo for it and its pretty cheap to get in large quanitys. i dont think it tumbles or else it wouldnt be that popular.

so...does a hollow point 55gr .223 ammo bullet tumble in the air?

No it does not tumble. I have shot at paper at 100 yards and the hole in the paper was perfectly round.

Hollow points in the sense your talking about do NOT tumble. The hollow point is there to cause rapid expansion!!! This is wanted to hold down the penetration in smaller animials these bullets were designed for, and also to stop the bullet from bounceing off the earth and continueing to travel.

well considering that most match grade bullets made in .224 caliber are hollow points Id say not. I have never had them tumble on me and I shoot several different .22 centerfires long range (500 +++ yards)
