Default Removing a stuck 22-250 case?

[:@]Stuck a case, Had it lubed, but evidently not enough. Anyway, I've got the decap pin out and have soaked it in penetrating oil. Any thoughts. Have not been able to tap it out yet. Thanks

if you can drill and tap a 1/4-20 or even 5/16-18 thru the primer pocket into the cavity of the case. then using washers that have holes greater than the .473 body of the case and not greater than the body of the die, you can assemble a dozen washers to the body of the die and over the case and then holding the die with a very secure wrench....(pipe wrench) one can thread a bolt into the tap and turn the case out of the die.

BTW both Hornady and RCBS remove stuck cases from their dies free.

Tried the tap and die thing, stripped it out, Tried also to drop a punch into the die and knock it out, only thing that did was screw up the expander ball. Finally, I viced the die and used a stuck screw extractor. That did the trick. I dropped in the expander from my .223 and sized a couple. They were right in spec with my speer book, so I think I came out no worse for the wear. Won't be doin that again soon.....I hope anyway!

Welcome to the wonderful world of reloading.
I was lucky when I stuck my first case I had a good friend that knew exactly what to do. He showed me how to fix my screw up. He then took me to town & made me buy the tools I needed to fix the problem, for the next time it happens.

A stuck case remover is one of the first tools a new reloader should buy..it is going to happen sooner or later. I have one from Bonanza that works great.

I have a RCBS Stuck Case Remover that works great. I bought it back in the 80's after I got my first bottle neck rifle case stuck.
I've probably had to use it two or three times in all those years but it is a useful piece of equipment to have on hand if you need it.

RPL beat me to it. I was going to suggest getting a RCBS stuck case remover. I bought mine way back and only used it a time or two. It's nice having it handy if you need it.Way back they were very inexpensive. No telling what they are now.
