Default Anyone using Berrys bullets????

Hello, I have been reloading for 15 years and I usually use name brand bullets. Speer, Nosler, Hornady, Sierra, Winchester, and remington. I do a lot of handgun shooting(1000 rounds a year)but I just put holes in paper. Latley with my ported guns I am getting leading in the ports( I have been shooting cast lead). I am done with the lead bullets period. I am looking for a decent, cheep, jacketed bullet. I have heard complaints that the Rainer bullets are all over in size(+-.002). So I figured I might try these Berrys plated bullets. Cabelas has them for around(depending on caliber) $13 a box of 250. For 5 cents a round I would be able to shoot twice much vs using name brand bullets. Has anyone used these bullets?? Any complaints??
Thanks
Jay

My brother and I got some Berrys bullets in 125gr for our .357 mags. I have not reloaded any for mine yet, but my brother has no complaints so far.

Default RE: Anyone using Berrys bullets????

DJ,
I ordered some from Cabelas several weeks ago and reloaded 50 .44mag 240gr RNFP over 22.5gr of W296 last weekend. I shot them Saturday and they shot great! I probably shoot 2000+ rounds a year out my various .44s and I thought I'd try to find some cheaper "plinking" bullets rather than "brand name" (my wallet was taking a serious hit!) and like you was tired of leading my barrel. In my opinion, for the price, you can't beat them. Ranier Ballistic also offers some excellent bullets for the price and I haven't had any trouble out of them (I've almost shot up all 500 240gr HP I bought this past October...even with one coyote to their credit taken with my 629 @25yds while scouting for tukeys 2 weeks ago). I even shoot their 240gr FP in my Ruger 77/44 and they will group under 1.5" @ 50 yards all day long. Out of my 629PP, they are as accurate as the more expensive bullets. I hope this helps.
