There's a 25 grain bullet now being made by CRP Custom Bullets, which will permit velocities up to about 4000 FPS from the Hornet using certain charges of Norma 123 or Alliant Power Pistol powder. Look for an article entitled Maximum Hornet in the Rifleshooter Magazine (Aug, Sept, or Oct 2001 I believe) for more info. I tried it - it works!!

You're right that CRP Custom Bullets does not have a website - there may be no such outfit. For some reason (old age or just plain stupidity), I misspoke. It is JRP Custom Bullets, NOT CRP!! The address is JRP Custm Bullets, 2017 Carlton Road, Whitehall NY 12887 TEL: 1-(802)-438-5548, or (518)-282-0084. No web site, e-mail address, or fax number given. He sells 25, 30, 35, 40, and 52 grain .224 bullets. Also 53 grain .243 and 55, 80, 87, 94, and 108 grain .308 bullets!! Sorry about the earlier miinformation!!

I went to the annual east coast Sportsman's Show in Harrisburg PA last week. Saw several small-caliber Cooper rifles there, one was a .10 caliber, and the other a .12!! Was assured that they both had rifled barrels. The .10 cal. looked like it was firing a phonograph needle!! How the hell do they get any powder into that case?? Maybe they neck it and load the bullet after dumping the powder in!!
