Default 8x57 mausers loads

Can anyone help me find some good loads for the 8x57.
All I have found are the anemic SAAMI loads.

Thanks for any help you can give.

My favorite load for 8x57:
Rem Brass
federal 210 primer
170 hornady round nose
51 gr of IMR 4064.

This is pretty much a very maximum load, I've only shot it to 200 yards but its very accurate in all of my 8x57 rifles I've shot several hundred rounds that I loaded like this.. Only problem is that RN bullets might not chamber in some mauser rifles due to the geometry of the receiver rails, feed ramp, and breech.

I recently found some 175 gr spire points in a gun shop, I would imagine that working up to a near maximum load with these bullets may give even better results, I'll be trying these in the spring.

Try the Lyman reloading manual for respectable 8x57 loads- I have loading data from Lee and Hornady which are pretty anemic compared to what's listed in Lyman.

Speer's number 12 manual has European level loads for the 8x57.

These are Maximum loads so work up to them. Remington brass and WW lr primers.
150 gr sierra spitzer, 53gr Imr 4064
175 gr Sierra spitzer, 51 gr Imr 4064
196 gr Norma RN , 50 gr IMR 4064
They shoot great out of my K-98

The Hornady manual has full house loads.....If 150 grains at 2900'/sec is good enough for you.
