Default Who likes RL25

I have tried and tried this stuff, and can't seem to get it to shoot well with 180gr partitions, 200gr accurbonds, it was ok with 180gr tripleX, 190gr matchkings. Accuacy is so so but the speeds are incredible I can get. I can get 3350fps with 180gr partitions, but with 1.5" groups at 100 yards.

Anybody else having this trouble. I seem get rock solid results out of Retumbo, and H1000. Even 4350 with 150gr bullets. And some good results with RL22. Just never get anything staggering out of a RL25

I am having the same results. I can make Retumbo, H-1000, IMR-7828 & RL-22 work in most all of my guns. But RL-25 just don't seem to agree with my rifles?

It is by far the best powder in both of my 300ultramags.Both average 1/2" groups with 180gr bullets at 3375fps and 3395fps.

Stubble, always bucking the trend. Hey, have you ever measured the thoat on your 300RUM with certain bullets with a stoney point? Also, what COL are loading 180gr too. I am seeing the sizzling velocities too. Here's the deal. I watch my chrono, and see these monsterous velocities, but it seems I get decent groups at max load. But am scared to go any further. In other words, my groups do go down some getting close to max. I am used to best accuracy about mid ways thru a powder range. Maybe I can go up a tad past max with RL25. Do you see this Stubblejumper? Are you at max loads?

can you fit them into your magizine or action? I am limited by the fact I can only go a max COL of 3.625" and thats tight.

Mine are stable, but I get worried when I see 3350fp and greater with a 180gr bullet. Thats cookin.
