Default accubonds

i just finished at the range with some of the new 180 gr accubonds. I had been haveing some trouble coming up with a load to shoot partitions thru this rifle and the best i could come up with was just under 2.5 in @ 100 yards.

all groups were 5 shots @ 100 yards from the bench .300 WM
RL 22 70 - 78 gr in 1 gr increments
I would not recomend anything over manufacturers specs for powder loads
with the accubonds the worst grouping i got was 1.550 in. (this was a very hot load) the best grouping i got was .840 in.
in case any one was wondering the O.D. of a US nickle is .837

compared to the scirrocos worst group 1.985 in. (top end load) and best group .990 in.

partitions worst group 2.450 in. best group 1.220 in.

Accubonds were the best grouping rounds in my 338. Hoping to pick some up in .270! Good report. I personally rarely load to max, haven't found a need to yet

Glad you posted. I think I'm switching from Part's. to Accubonds this year for both my wife's .270 and my 7mm. Anyone have a performance review on game?

this bullet is very new so performance reviews are slim i have seen 3 results

one of a whitetail (bullet performed great from the pictures i seen) (dont remember cal)
the second was an elk shot in the neck destroyed (polverized) two full vertabreys and fractured another two (140 gr 270 wsm)
the third was on a moose pass thru on the spine above front shoulders moose dropped dead in its tracks (140 gr 270 wsm)

Thanks jjt! I appreciate the info. Looks like it would be a pretty good performer for deer and elk size game. Bonded core with a ballistic tip. Nice.
