get the RCBS rockchucker startup kit.....

Build a bench with 2X4s and 3/8" lag screws. The top should be at least 3/4" plywood and 2' X 4' I've never seen a bench built too heavy.....assuming you're talking about rifle reloading...

If it's shotshells you're interested in I'd recommend a Mec 600 Jr...

I just bought the RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme starter kit last week and still buying a few accessories that I've read I might need. The people I asked (in person and on the net) about wanting to get started in reloading all pointed me towards the RCBS reloaders. A few mentioned I should go with a single stage press for starters but a few of them stated I should get a the progressive press. I went with the single stage for starting off.

However, I found out through a local RCBS dealer that with the Supreme press I bought I can upgrade to a progressive operation down the road as my experience in reloading grows using a optional Piggyback-4. For me that's something to consider for in the long run. I'm reading the manual over once one while I'm waiting for my ordered die set to get in. After that I'm off and going into the reloading world! Good luck

I taught myself, never had any help/guidance from anyone, except the Lyman/Ideal Handbook to begin with and later a lot of other good reference material (American Rifleman, Handloader Mag., Rifle Mag., P.O. Ackley's books, Townsend Whelen's books, Phil Sharpe's "COMPLETE GUIDE TO HANDLOADING", Elmer Keith & Jack O'Connor's books, and Bob Hagels's book on Game Loads & Practical Ballistics for the American Hunter! Also, get a copy of Hatcher's Notebook, and READ, READ, READ!!.
