New Brass

I' m just getting into loading of pistol and rifle ammo and I' m looking for the best brass to purchase at the best price

There are folks that think Norma has the best brass.....I haven' t tried it so can' t say...to me the best brass is cheap brass......go to a shooting range and pick up the brass on the gound.....don' t mix brands....stay with one brand but brass can be relatively cheap.....and that makes it good. Remington, winchester, federal all seem to have roughly equivalent brass.

Brass on the ground might be often reloaded but in my experience it' s once fired!!!!

I use alot of Remington and Winchester brass, prices run about the same for these 2 so its a matter of personal preferance or which one happens to be on special when I need it
I pick up alot of range brass but only for the pistols. Everyone seems to load thier own rifle ammo and any brass I' ve found (for rifles) is pretty well shot and I won' t chance it. Over the course of the year tho I get enough 9mm, 38/357 that I don' t need to buy it. Also, I meet alot of old guys through work that have brass/ammo laying around they want to get rid of and I' m always happy to help them dispose of it.
Looking at my current inventory I could probably shoot for the next ten years without having to worry about brass.

IO have used RWS, Remington, Winchester, Norma, and a few other types. For all practical purposes, I find NO PRACTICAL DIFFERENCES worth discussing between brands. I am not a benchrest shooter, and if my cases last for ten reloadings I am happy.

Norma Brass is the best brass I have ever used. I got started useing it years ago when thats all I could find for the 6.5x55. Now everyone makes it. That Norma brass just lasts forever. It is a little expensive compared to othe brass. In many years of reloading, I would rank brass the following way. 1. Norma. 2. Winchester. 3. Federal. 4 Remington. For pistols the Starlite is good brass as well.

If your really anal about the brass being consistant there is no better than Norma, if you want cheap quality brass go Winchester or Remington.

I use R-P brass; I cannot afford Norma brass, but I use their powder. Good luck.
