Default 7mm mag/160gr. Barnes XLC data?

We are planning on going on a 2004 elk hunt, and I have been using the 160 gr. Barnes XLC in 7mm Rem. Mag. for PA black bear. Not really USING, because I haven' t had the chance to shoot any with this particular bullet yet. I only hunt deer with archery equipment, so I haven' t been able to see this load perform on anything other than paper. But I' ve heard it' s really a good performer.

Does anyone have any experience using this combo for elk? How' d it work? Also, if you have any good loads, I' d be interested in hearing about them too. I have a BOSS system, so I can tune the gun to the ammo...

Thanks!

I don,t think you could find a better bullet for elk in that gun. My new Barnes Manual calls for that bullet as an all around performer for the big 7' s.
