Is anyone loading The .327 Federal Magnum ?
#2
I load for an SP101 and a Single 7, but like most magnum revolver rounds, I find it pretty simple:
Heavy XTP's and lots of H110/W296.
I run 13.0grn under the 100 XTP. I have 7.5" and 4.2" barrels, so I can be happy with performance at range for small game. Would rather skip the Single 7, if I'm honest, and have a 6" SP101, but alas, such an animal doesn't exist.
I have been a big fan of the .32H&R for a long time, so the .327 was a natural draw for me. I shoot my single 6 32h&r a lot more than my single 7, but the SP101 is sublime.
It's not the bad-guy-stopper of the .38 or .357, despite its impressive energy, but it does very well on small game. It's also a pleasure for low recoil for new shooters. Loud, but low recoil.
