Default 257 Roberts

Does anyone have any good loading data for the 257 Roberts. I have several reloading manuals and they all load the roberts to low pressure levels.

Hornady' s 5th edition manual for the .257 M-70 is all +P loads...don' t think you' ll beat those loads much.....I never have. They are full steam loads.

Besides, it' s a good resource.

These loads come from the Hornady and Barnes manuals These are Max loads so start a few grains lower and work up. These rounds use Winchester +P brass ONLY. WW mag primers. 115 grain Nosler Ballistic tip 44.5 grains IMR 4831. OCL 2.820 Velocity chronographed ten yard from Muzzle AVE 2791. 100 Grain Barnes 100 Flat Base X bullet COL 2.810. 46 grains H 414. WW Mag primer. Velocity at 10 yards from muzzle 3133. This Same load and COL with 100 grain Hornaday interlock Spire point. 3084. Please remember that while these loads are safe in my 700 Remington rifle, all guns are different so work up no more than one grain at a time to these levels or stop short of these levels. Hope this will help you out. I only use Winchester +P brass in my rifle. I am soon going to work up a Varmit load with the 75 grain and 87 grain Hornaday, I will post it here when I do. Have a great day and a good hunting season.
