Default Resizing .300 Rem. Ultra Mag

Having trouble with resizing the casings of .300 Remington Ultra Mag. Causing gun bolt to jam after 2-3 times of reloading the cases. Any suggestions? We arent getting very much use out of the used cases.
Loads = 97 gr. Alliant Reloader 25
No. 210 Federal Primers
180 gr. Trophy Bonded Bear Claw

97gr of r-25 is a very hot load with a 180gr bullet. The web may be expanding due to high pressure which could cause problems resizing the brass. Are your primer pockets loosening as well after a few loadings?

The information listed below is from the Modern Reloading Second Edition by Richard Lee.
180 Grain Jacketed Bullet
Reloader-25 Starting load 86.2-grains.
Reloader-25 Max Load 96.0-grains.

180 Grain Barnes-X Bullet
Reloaded-25 Starting load 81.8 grains.
Reloader-25 Max load 87.9 grains.

With the information provided from you & the reloading manual, you can see that you are loading your shells over max. I realize you are only 1-grain over max.
I had a friend " blow up" his 308 the first time he shot it with a max load. He never work up to a max load. He just looked in a manual, found a max load with a powder he liked & started there.

I recommend throwing out all of your used brass & starting with new brass.
Also switch primers to the Federal 215 Magnum primer. You need the hotter primer to help burn all of that powder.
Work your way up to a max load checking for pressure along the way.

Good luck & be safe,

Your darn lucky you get 3 firing out of them. Barnes data is about the same for trophy bonded. You can' t use the " 180gr" data for Nosler or Swift for this bullet.

I am just shocked you made it to 97gr of Re25. Are you chronoing. I don' t think I want that rifle now.

Don' t feel bad, I did the same thing with TBBC with Re22 in my 300RUM. But it locked up in my chamber at 88gr of Re22. Had to beat out with a wooden dowl.
