rockchucker press

how good is this press. does it work good as progressive or single press? i' m not worried about quanity over quality. i want the best reload i can get. bob

You can' t do better than a RCBS rockchucker press in my opinion.

It' s not a progressive press...it' s a single stage press. If you reload more than 500 rounds a year of one cartridge, you might want to consider a progressive...however the single stage press gets more attention from me than any other press in my house.

I guess its a matter of choice but I prefer my rockchucker over a progressive . I have both but I have never been a big fan of the progressive presses. A lot of that has to do with the powders that I load .

thanks guys. thats what some people i talked to local said about it also. any thoughts on loads for my marlin 336 lever in .35 rem. i' m looking at hornadys 180 gr single shot pistol bullet you would load for T / C contender. which shows to be a good load for that cal. i' m only going to load one in tha chamber and one in the mag. as for the points on the bullets in the mag is not safe up against each other. the info i' v read on the contender with that load is a good 250 yd load with a 16" barrel. my 336 has a 20" barrel. but the range is not that far. the only factory loads are the 150 gr soft point and the 200 gr round point. i like the marlin it' s gotten plenty of deer for and really dont want to buy another gun. right now i' m getting into black powder. and going to be spending about $500.00 plus for every thing. thanks bob

read the loading data very carefully....it' s possible that the book yiou' re looking at states specifically for the contender only....use only data developed in the Marlin lever action.

I agree with the others, it' s hard to beat a Rockchucker! Top of the line, no doubt.

I have owned a rockchucker press for about 10 years now and i havent seen the need to go to a progressive. if you plan on reloading a thousand at a time i would go with the progressive.

I started out reloading with a Rockchucker press several years ago and don' t see any reason to ever need anything different. You can' t go wrong with this press, excellent for beginner or veteran reloader. Plus, RCBS stands behind their products as well as anybody in the shooting industry.

You can,t beat the Rockchucker press I have had mine for 25 years. I think they make a progress kit to add to the Rockchucker if you ever need to go volume. A friend of mine got this kit for his. It works great.
