RE: What would you like to see in outdoor TV shows?
The Bill Clinton idea would be way more entertaining than your typical hunting show.
Lets see start with 5 minutes of adds, then a 5 minutes of meet and greet and telling you that deer are coming into the food plot and how great the hunt is going to be and they will get a good deer if they hunt hard from their heated blind, and four wheeler, another commercial.
We are back, lets watch while they drive the four wheeler out to the heated blind with their guide and climb the ladder, (I am getting tired just watching all that hard work). Now lets watch some deer come into the food plot and then a decent buck walks (they confirm it is a good buck by looking through their $1200 binoculars) out to get a bite, now this is getting exciting, OK they are going to shoot, but wait here' s another commercial. 5 minutes later, OK we are back, they shoot the deer at 100 yards with their .30 cal thunder stick. High fives for a few minutes and listed to the " hunter" talk about what a tough hunt it was and how he could not have done it without the great outfitter sitting next to him.
If shooting deer over a food plot isn' t baiting, I don' t know what is.
Walk 100 yards to the buck, get a few pictures, drive the four wheeler out toss the deer on and back to the house for dinner.
Yeah we need more hunting shows like that (insert turkeys exotic game in texas, hogs), don' t forget to toss in a few product segments huntint tips segments and at the end have a cooking segment. Or you could do like Northwest Hunter and have 10 minutes of hunting and 20 minutes of commercials and product segments. Good Stuff!!
But seriously if it isn' t on public land unguided I am usually not interested in watching it.
However, it there is a guided public land where the hunters are actually going to have to work to get their quarry then sometimes it is worth watching. My favorite show right now is Jim Shockeys show. No how to segments, no product, segments, no cooking segments, just hunting.
Last year there was another show I really like called Montana' s Secrets. Real people doing real hunting, but I guess that wasn' t commercial enough so they took it off.
Surprisingly another show I like it Realtree Road Trips, I guess that shows that with a good presentation even the food plot hunting shows can be interesting.

Get about ten newbies to hunting.Start them at the begining of dove season .Follow them thru to the end of dove season, and see how much they have learned.By newbies I mean people that have never really hunted,at all different ages.Have a pro gut a deer ,and show us new ways to speed up the prosses.Have a pro show what part of a field he would set up in to hunt dove, and see if he' s right.Duck hunting from the start.Picking a spot , building a blind, all on public land. Then follow it thru the season. The same with all the rest of the game we hunt in the USA.

Still Hunting!!!!!
A little crossbow hunting.
Very little sitting in trees and waiting for a deer to walk by.
Break it up into segments. A couple of hunting sequences, some conservation, some equipment (but not just touts for manufacturers), some science/nature/history segments on the animals you' re hunting or the country you' re visiting, some " how to" segments, some tactics segments.

Hi Rick,
Great idea' s, I like the idea on segement with some historical information on the early hunters, and mixed in with modern day hunters. The young hunters of today are the future for tomorrow. I will see what I can do to blend in your idea' s. thank you so much..

Vapodog, I don' t know what your problem is and I could care less but you should try reading the rules of this BBS sometime. This post is in every forum which is in direct violation of the rules. Besides it is off topic for the reloading forum.
RE: What would you like to see in outdoor TV shows?
Hi Rob,
Normally I don' t respond to negative e-mails, but with yours I must take exception. First of all, being new to this message board, I was asked by my producers to do a job, and that was to find out what men and women outdoor enthusiasts wanted in outdoor television programming. The men and women who use all these forums are fellow hunters and fishermen in whom I respect, I value their opinions, knowledge and willingness to share what' s important for them to see when they turn on their television and watch hunting, fishing shows and all that goes with it. The reloading forum is a great place to get info for the reloaders who watch will watch our show many will be hunters and shooters. I guess that I didn' t see that you were this messages boards Cyber Cop, remember what' s spam to you is meat to others, if your not happy reading Outdoor 338' s posts please ignor them, you will not hurt my feelings, and I find it funny, someone expresses their opinion against you " eat dog crap" as someone said to you and your angry, yet many of your posts are negative and harsh, Seems to me life is much more then living and getting angry over posts that you may not like, try life..it really is fun!
And regards to the 9/11 Hunters where were you? for a book project. This is one job that was asked of me by many hunters and fishermen, I have wept over many stories that have been shared, and witnessed to, if you could see the hundreds of letters and e-mails I get, people don' t want to forget 9/11, they want to be heard! I have had only two negative responses (Yours, and someone who agreed with you) out of all my coorspondence, That' s a lot of people who realize our lives have changed since 9/11, they want to share and talk about it, and I am here to write and listen. If you think I am in this for the money, not true, I have made many wonderful friends from this project, witnesses of the attacks, familys who lost loved ones, and the common folk, people like me, common, ordinary people, who still want to speak, and express their anger...if you have a problem with people wanting to do that or a problem with me Rob, then email me.I am willing to hear what you say. God bless the USA
