Default What is a good lower cost alternative to nosler partitions?

Most agree they are the best but they cost about twice as much as most...

it will be for 25-06 or 270 win with cxp2 size game (havent decided the caliber yet...)

thanks

If you are going to be shooting whitetail, the good old Hornady Interlock bullets are fine. I have had a lot of good experience and results with Nosler's 130 gr Ballistic Tip in the .270 Win. Pushed by 54 gr of IMR4350, I have taken countless whitetail and mulies from 10 yds out to over 400.

All the "premium" bullets are in a similar price range. Guess you'll just have to be old fashioned like lots of us I've been shooting mostly hornady SSTs, and it would fit the 270 well. In the 25-06, the 115 nosler ballistic tip.

I like the Hornady Interlock. You can find the .270 Win Hornady custom loads for 22 bucks a box at most places and sometime less. I like the Federal blue box ammo for the 25-06 they use Hot-cor bullets and it sure does a great job. Good luck

Shane, if you go to Shooters Pro Shop, they are the Nosler Co's outlet for Nosler Seconds.

You can get your Partitions for arounf 11-15 USD per 50, same for Accubonds. If you buy 200 USD worth I think it is free shipping.

They are not always in stock so keep an eye on the in stock page and buy deep when the right bullet shows up.

Last year I got 500 150gr Partitions for 11 USD per 50 which puts them in the 22 / 100 range, then Nosler came out with a sale for 150 gr Accubonds at 11 / 50 and I bought a thousand of those. I am set for a long time on premium big game .30 cal bullets.

You can do the same if you keep your eyes open.

I am an addicted M1 Garand shooter and the Ballistic tips and CC bullets show up there at great savings as well.

When you see a good bullet cheap buy and store for the future, I am still killing deer with some 180 gr round nose Hornadays I bought in the 90's, the deer in East Texas can't tell they are being shot with 4.5 cent bullets, they just fall over dead.

Good luck

I haven't lost a critter yet with the 100 grain or 120 grain Speer hot cores out of the 25 06. Same with the Hornady. I have lots of Grand Slams and partitions, but have not found any difference in the performance on deer or elk. If applied properly they just plain work. If I need more, I will go to the 45 70 or the bee, and it's a done deal.

If they will shoot good out of your rifle for the $ Remington Core Lokts. Never have heard one story where they failed on an animal. I never could get them to shoot out of any of my rifles.
