Default Barnes TSX: Tipped or Not?

I want to try one of the TSX in .308 180gr and was wondering what performance difference you've noticed between the hollow point and the tipped?

I went ahead and got the BT version. All reports claim better BC with BT's. We'll see.

I have shot them both and at ranges 300yds and closer you really won't see to much of a differeance between the two. The tipped tsx certainly has the better BC and they say the tip helps in expansion a little better than the standard hollow point TSX.

I have many loads for the TSX, but I think when I run out, I will buy the tipped. Hopefully nothing will change except improvement to the BC.

Since there is little difference in the price, I'd try the tipped first. I see no advantage with the plain, except that being one piece construction it has the potential to be more consistent and concentric.

Who knows if it actually is, and for its intended use it really doesn't matter anyway. Who cares if you get 1 moa instead of 3/4 moa at the ranges this bullet is best for.
