Default Minimum loads for 30-06???

Gentleman

Can anyone recomend a smaller, lighter load for 30-06 with 150gr. bullet. My 12 year old want's to use his Granpas rfile for Wisconsin whitetails next year. I've only been reloading a few years and have only expierienced a couple of different powders.

IMR4350 and IMR4064

I'm looking for best bang with least amount of recoil. ANy suggestions appreciated!

go on Hodgdon's data site, find a load using H-4895, that powder (and that powder only ) you can load light as long as you stay 60% or more of the listed max load.look up "youth loads" on Hodgdons site for more info.RR

The Lee reloading manual also has reduced loads listed along with a chapter that explains his thoughts on the matter if my memory serves correctly.

For even more reduced loads than you can get using H4895, you can use trail boss.
