Default 7mm load

I have a 26" barrel on my 7mm. I am in the process of trimming it to about 24.5" just to help mobility out west. I am looking to shoot 140 rounds and was wondering if the barrel reduction would keep me from getting a real 3125 - 3150 fps or so out of the 140 grain round?? THANKS

Have you chronographed your current loads?.....

I'll bet you're not getting that velocity now!

Plan on losing about 30 FPS by shortening the barrel 1.5 inches

Personally, shortening a barrel 1 1/2 inches is not going to help much. I'd trim at least 4".....but then I like short barrels.

There's no point in having a mag without the barrel length to take full advantage of the case' capacity.I'd leave it as is.Besides 1 1/2" shorter wont help mobility much anyway.

One can only assume you are asking about a 7mm Remington magnum as opposed to the numerous rounds that can be called "7mm".

This was my assumption as well based on the 26" barrel and velocity numbers quoted.
