There is some feeling that AA-4350 and IMR-4350 are the same.....and that H-4350 has a slightly different burn rate and I suspect there's truth here.....but I've never found any confirmation of this.....a lot of internet chat but no one has proven any of this.....

Until I find definitive proof of two powders being the same, I feel we must treat them as different.....by this I mean....do not interchange!

It frustrates me that the powder company's continue to "confuse" the reloading business by allowing similar names for their products. Once someone reads that they are the same they can assume that H-4227 is the same as IMR-4227 etc etc.....and this is serious folley IMO.....

so that said.....my reply:.....until they are proven the same.....they must be treated as different and loaded per the load data from reputable sources.

H4350 is hotter. I talked to Chris Hodgdon a while back and that is what he recommended for me to use in my 30-06.

i think i got it figured out,h4350 has a lower pressure than imr 4350 so i will have to load them very different and carfully

Different burn rates, and a quick look at reloading manuals, vastly different powder charges. Most everywhere I have seen, including Lyman and a Speer reloading manual expressly state to not interchange the date on 4350 powders of any brand.

it looked to me the IMR has a higher pressure effect than the H4350 at compatable loads
