Default Sierra Reloading manuals

Does anyone else find the Sierra data to be very conservative? I shoot 270, 308, 300RUM, and 300winmag, and find the data to be on the light side.

Yea, but they are not that accurate. I called the tech support line (at least once a week). There is a guy there that will tell ya straight. I think it is Paul Box. They told me to only go to 41 or maybe 42gr of Varget. Talked to Paul, and he said go all the way up to 46 with Varget with my 308Win. He was right, by far 45gr of varget was my most accurate. Now he did have me shootin some hot stuff with 100gr of Retumbo in my 300RUM and 190gr sierra MK. Don' t think I made it past 97gr.

bowhunter, I wouldn' t cancel the order. I like to have all the manuals of the bullets I shoot. There is good info in it. Just they seem to be concervative compared to others. I like have several reloading manuals due to you have always have thinks that make you scratch your head with all of them. Like Nosler, and 357Sig. They have faster velocities with heavier bullets. So its good to compare with several and make your own decision. And confidence is 50% of shooting in my opinion.
