Question Crimp Question

I am starting reloading shotgun shells this year with a nice mec 600 jr. we have, but I have one question that I have been trying to figure out, so I just want to see what you guys prefer....
6 or 8 crimps??? I have heard arguments for both, but I want to see what you guys think are better. Currently we reload Winchester AA and (mostly) Remington STS low brass. What say you?

Just use the same crimp the hull already has. There's no advantage to one over the other.

Yes. Unless you are starting with new hulls, you pretty much have to use what they had before.

With new hulls, I don't know. I think I heard once that 6 point is easier, but my memory is what I forget with.

6 finger crimps will not crimp as nice as the 8 finger crimps. A bad crimp could be a lost target if the pressure on the wad is incorrect because of the crimp. I'd stay with 8 fingered crimps with the red AAs or the STSs.
