Default How do you clean your die?

I got a bunch of reloading equipment form an estate sale. There are few dies, some of then slightly rusted on the outside. I wiped them with solvent and they look much better now.

What do you use to cleanup dies and remove rust?

Thanks.

I like a real thin oil like rem oil. I just use a towel to push inside without the deprimer and twist around

I've never had mine rust...but some steel wool ought take it off. For regular cleaning I take them apart and use soapy water, followed by a very light coat of rem oil after a good air dry.

Kroil is great for busting rust.

I recently bought a bunch of reloading stuff off a guy from craigslist and has some surface rust and I used Remington oil and a little steel wool and it cleaned up great.

I traded for 4 sets that had been smoke damaged the bores were dirty and they had enough rust outside to make it hard to read their markings. I took them apart, tossed them in my bucket of CLP for a couple of days used a brass brush in the knerling ,and patched the bores put them together they are good as new though discolored.
