Default Is there such thing as a 27-08??

Essentially a 308 necked down to 270? We've got .243, 260, and 284. Seems like the 100 class, 120 class, and the 140 are covered. Nothing in 130.

Not that another caliber choice is really needed....

well these cases are built off the 308. 22 jaybird, 243, 25 souper, 260 rem, 7mm/08, 338 federal, and 358 win. so I'm sure the 270/308 has been done, just can't tell you the exact name without looking.
You may not know or believe this, but when a new cartridge is introduced, there are guys who for a hobby, wildcat into every possible form they can think of, even before factory rifles are available in the parent chambering.

I was just curious, I'll stay with old standbys and let the hobbyist have the rest. I'm not planning on reloading anytime soon.......but if I did?????

Been around for 40 years...I ran into a reamer way back in the late 60's or early 70's.. also the .284/308..which is not the same thing as the 7mm/08 I later found out.. I have a set of BONANZA benchrest dies if anyone still needs them for sale...... yeah, that's one that the market hasn't factoried on us yet !!

I am sure there is. Like you said, there is no need for it. We have the .260 and the 7mm-08.

Need doesn't always determine what you want though.

Ken Howell in his "Designing and Forming Custom Cartridges" has drawings and dimensions for a .270-.308 from a design by David LeGate.
It is on page 179.
If I can get my scanner going, I'll post a copy.
