I have an RCBS Rockchucker that I inherited from a neighbor. He bought it in the 1960s and it still works. Most of my RCBS dies have survived as long. I've bought dies from other makers and they are not as good.
I would also go with a kit so you can get started. Then you can decide how gung-ho you want to get.
A couple things you could live without are a tumbler and a case-trimmer. If you only plan to shoot brass 3 or 4 times. In my opinion, when a case stretches enough that you have to start trimming, it's getting too thin. Measure the case. If it's too long, chuck it.
I started reloading with 100s of rounds of each caliber. I don't see the need to wring 5-10-15 shots out of each case. We must have had 50 boxes of 30-06 brass. We saved every case since my dad started shooting 50 years ago.
