Default seperate? or a kit?

i was wondering about the RCBS Rock Chucker super duper reloading kit..its $700 and i am understanding that isn't everything?

i saw the sticky and it looked to be about $400-$500 on the list of needed things.

should i buy everything separately or as a kit?

also i wanted to do a poll on the best press, the best dies etc..so some name brands that you could suggest for the poll would be great. thx

I say look at the list of what you need, then get the best you can for each item separately. The kit will give you some stuff you need and some stuff you don't, and some stuff you need but for which a different brand may have been better.

As for best dies, the sky is the limit. I mean Redding Competition Dies are awesome but very expensive. Personally I get RCBS dies for rifles and I can get .5 MOA average groups in every rifle I own. For pistols I care a lot less about wringing every ounce of accuracy and so I use Lee dies. I have used Lee dies for rifles and why some guys love the Lee collet neck sizing dies I had mine bust within 200 rounds so I gave up on them.

Get the kit. As you gain more and more experience reloading, you will begin to appreciate some other pieces of gear by other manufacturers and probably add it to your bench. Just the normal progression of things......

There is no way in hell that I would pay $700 for a single stage kit.
I have everything that this kit has and more and have way less than half the price of that kit. I got a lot of my stuff used off Craigslist and local forums and its basically brand new.
